Everyone knows the moon is made of cheese

Happy 20th Birthday to Wallace and Gromit!

I love Wallace and Gromit! I’ve grown up with them – I remember watching The Wrong Trousers when it was first on TV. The penguin really scared me but I loved his character anyway. I loved the scene in the museum, and the part when Gromit is spying on him from a cardboard box.

I adore Gromit’s character, mainly because he’s a dog, but also because he doesn’t literally speak but communicates through his facial expressions. He’s smart, lovely and loyal and I don’t know where Wallace would be without him. x)

My parents got me A Grand Day Out on VHS. I remember thinking how weird and wonderful the whole thing was. The entire concept is bizarrely fantastic – building a rocket out of scraps in a shed and then successfully traveling to the moon, all because they were out of cheese. Then the coin activated cooker that they meet there that dreams of going on a skiing holiday. XD;

There’s also The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which I think is their funniest adventure. It’s the only full-length feature film from Wallace and Gromit, and now whenever I watch the short films, they never quite seem long enough.

And then there’s A Close Shave, with the infamous Shaun the Sheep. It was my favourite until last year’s A Matter of Loaf and Death, which is by far my most loved film of theirs, mainly because of Fluffles the poodle.

I think I’ll always love the characters, especially Gromit, and I’m looking forward to any future releases. For now I think a few things from their online shop are going on my Christmas list…

If you’re wondering if…

Some quick thoughts on Weezer’s new single before I get back to work.

(If you’re wondering if I want you to) I want you to is more pop/rock than their last single; more upbeat and cheerful. The guitar sound, especially the beginning, is very much like The Jam’s A Town Called Malice, although it doesn’t bother me. I really like the song overall and it’s definitely made me (even) more excited for their upcoming album. I seem to be one of the rare Weezer fans that likes songs from all over their discography (although Blue is the best).

Star Girl in space!

@NASA: Star Girl by McFly to be played in space! The station crew will hear the song during the Oct. 21 ISS Tweetup.

How awesome is this?! Not only is it a fantastic song, but it’s also relevant. XD

Toy Story 3

There’s a new Toy Story 3 trailer out on the Apple Trailers website! It’s a lot longer than the one that was released a while ago (there was another trailer before now, right?) and it shows Andy going to college/university. I haven’t been able to watch it properly yet since I haven’t got speakers/headphones at work and for some reason this computer has given up on loading any videos. I’ve seen about 10 frames of a version on Youtube. x( I’ll be watching it when I get home, can’t wait!

I saw Up on the weekend – I should write a post about that. Wasn’t my favourite Disney/Pixar film, by far. It’s too sad.

Anyway, just a quick post before I eat my lunch~

Eddie with toy Here’s a quick picture of my labrador, Eddie!

This is him lying in our lounge with a chew toy, pretending he’s never ever naughty and he always looks this cute and innocent. Vince has just told me I’ve got to credit him for taking it..
